Translating the Content Editing Interface in WordPress
The WordPress administration area uses the English language by default, but other languages are available as well. Let’s see how to use other languages in the WordPress administration and how to use WPML to translate the strings coming from the theme and plugins used in your site.
WordPress allows you to change the language used in the administration area. This is particularly useful when the site’s users speak different languages, for example, in multi-national teams and companies.
Users can set their preferred WordPress administration language on the Users->Your Profile page, under the Personal Options section.
To use the WordPress administration area in other languages, you first need to install translations of WordPress into desired languages. Don’t worry, WPML can do this for you and install translations automatically.
Besides the backend strings coming from WordPress itself, there are also those coming from the theme and plugins used in your site. WPML allows you to automatically scan for all these strings and translate them.
