[Resolved] How to develop, deploy and license Toolset-based themes?

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I have read all of the articles and support threads below, but I am still confused and have many questions:

1. Are themes required to use Layouts or can I use another 3rd party theme (e.g. Astra)?

2. Are users of the theme required to purchase a Toolset license of their own?

3. How much Toolset functionality does a theme user have (e.g. can users edit views and content templates)?

Over the years, I have used Toolset (great product!) for a number of client projects for which I was the administrator. This arrangement meant that I provided ongoing support, with the ability to manage installation, configuration and updates.

Now I wish to create and distribute themes based on Toolset. As a result, I will not necessarily be the administrator for these sites.

The three questions above are a start, but just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much confusion. What's needed is comprehensive documentation explaining the development, deployment and licensing. I believe onTheGoSystems is missing a big opportunity because of poor marketing and documentation.
