Dear toolset staff,
we want to create a section in our website to showcase our series of podcasts.
We have thought on toolset to make this true.
You can see here https:// greatergood. berkeley. edu/ podcasts #recent hidden link what we want to obtain.
I have created a new post type called podcasts and want to know how would you approach to this project.
I have created custom taxonomies called categories and tags for the podcasts.
I do attach the image of exactly what we want to obtain. We want to use the default built-in wordpress audio media player for the mp3, and obtain it via custom field to the mp3 file associated to each post.
We use Divi as builder, but we can use yours if you find it better for this section of the website (BTW is it possible to have both divi and toolset Layouts active?)
As you can see in the attached image and in the website, at the top of the page there is a selector to move between different views. I think this can be done with toolset views embedded within a Tabs Nav header that is integrated in divi. I would include each view inside each tab (please see here hidden link).
How would you approach to this? How to add an audio mp3 that starts when you click the main image?
I can give you access to our website to test it.
Thank you for your great support.
Mario
Hi Mario,
Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.
You're thinking on the right lines and what you're planning is possible to achieve using Toolset and Divi.
1. For the audio player, you can use the "Audio" type custom field from Types plugin, which makes use of the WordPress' built-in audio player:
https://toolset.com/documentation/customizing-sites-using-php/functions/#audio
2. However, to make it play when the main image is clicked, you'll need to add some custom script.
3. To design the individual views inside the tabs, you can use Toolset View's Bootstrap grid:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/displaying-content-using-grids/
4. For the tabs structure, you can use the Divi builder and then insert the views in the relevant tab contents.
It is important that the view's content template is not designed using the Divi, due to the limitation explained at:
https://toolset.com/documentation/recommended-themes/toolset-divi-integration/known-issues-between-divi-and-toolset/#designing-both-the-page-and-the-view-with-divi
5. Toolset Layouts and Divi both offer the page builder features and we don't recommend using them both at the same time.
You'll find the important information related to the recommendations when using Divi with Toolset in our documentation:
https://toolset.com/documentation/recommended-themes/toolset-divi-integration/
I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any further assistance around this.
regards,
Waqar
