I want to update the WordPress version to 5.9.1.

In the following ticket (https://toolset.com/forums/topic/custom-fields-are-disappeared-from-a-specific-custom-post-type-item/), Shane told me that there will be a problem with the initialisation of the WYSIWYG fields. He pointed me to https://toolset.com/errata/visual-tab-of-wysiwyg-fields-may-not-initialize-correctly-appear-not-to-save-data/.

I go through the page and also in the mentioned WP core tickets. However, all these tickets are closed by the WordPress developers. In my understanding, this means that they consider the problem solved. So, who will solve this problem? And why although everything is OK on my site with WordPress 5.8.3, it doesn't work with the new version? To me, it seems more like a Toolset-WordPress 5.9.x problem.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hello,

I have checked it in our to-do list, it is still in open status, our developers are working on it.

Have you tried the workaround mentioned in that erratum:

Comments on the WP tickets suggest that using the jQuery migrate helper plugin and choosing the legacy jQuery version can “fix” the issue: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper

Please let me know if it works in your website or not, thanks

Hi,

This plugin is not tested for WordPress 5.9. From what I read, I understand that some old code remains in the Toolset plugin and your developers tried to solve the problem. Have you a time frame for this?

As you can see, the erratum is still in "Open" status:
https://toolset.com/errata/visual-tab-of-wysiwyg-fields-may-not-initialize-correctly-appear-not-to-save-data/
I have checked it in our to-do list, our developers are still working on it, but I am not sure when will it be fixed, so I added this thread into it, hope it can raise the attention.
