Since the introduction of WordPress 6.5 (and the issue is still present with 6.5.2), any time I try to add a new post on my website I get the following error message:
"The editor has encountered an unexpected error."
Clicking "Copy error" shows this:
https://pastebin.com/1Tgc3ERL
I have enabled the debug log like this in wp-config:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
define('WP_DISABLE_FATAL_ERROR_HANDLER',true);
and this shows the following:
https://pastebin.com/UpcWvfDK
I have tried disabling all plugins, and reverting to the default theme, and the error disappears and I'm able to create new posts, but as soon as I enable Toolset Blocks (and even if that is the only plugin enabled) I immediately get this error again.
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.
We haven't received any report about such an issue and I couldn't reproduce this on a test website. The information from the error logs is also not very conclusive.
Can you please share the temporary admin login details of your website, along with the exact steps to see the issue? I'll also need your permission to download the clone/snapshot of the website (in case it needs to be investigated on a different server).
Note: Your next reply will be private and making a complete backup copy is recommended before sharing the access details.
regards,
Waqar
Thank you for the permission and I've downloaded the website's clone.
I can see the issue on your website's clone on my server, but couldn't reproduce this on a clean install. I'll continue the troubleshooting and will share the findings, as soon as this testing completes.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for waiting as I completed the testing.
I was able to confirm from your website's clone that this is the same issue that is already reported here:
https://toolset.com/errata/wordpress-6-5-update-breaks-editor-if-using-core-media-block-with-dynamic-sources/
The patched version of the Toolset Blocks/Views plugin, available on the mentioned errata page fixed the issue on your website's clone.
You can make a complete backup copy of the website and then install the updated version of the plugin.
( the issue will be fixed in the upcoming release of the Toolset Blocks/Views, which is expected to roll out, early next week )
Thanks so much, really helpful.
A quick note to let you know that we published plugin updates, that include a fix for this issue.
If the updates do not show up on your plugin installer page (click the registered link beneath the plugin name to go to the custom installer page) click the the Check for Updates button to update the list.
Or you can download the latest versions from your accounts page: https://toolset.com/account/downloads
