Problem:
The client wanted to re-use a View on different pages and was trying to use conditional shortcodes for this.
Solution:
The best way to re-use the same View that will output different results is to add a Query Filter which is set either by a shortcode attribute in the wpv-view shortcode where the View is added or using a url parameter. See the linked documentation.
Problem:
When adding Google Maps in tabs where the map is not in the first tab so that it is initially hidden, opening the tab which contains the map shows a placeholder for the map which is not actually rendered
Solution:
You need to add the following Javascript to re-initialise the map once the tab has been selected (be sure to edit the map id):
Problem: I would like to organize the checkboxes in my search filter into groups.
Solution:
- Use JavaScript to arrange your checkboxes into containers on page load, or
- Use CSS to split the content of a parent container into multiple columns, or
- Hard-code the generated filter HTML into your page
