Problem:
The client has assigned layouts to certain pages or posts and no longer wants to use Layouts on these pages.

Solution:
Un-assign the layout where no longer needed.

From the list of layouts at Toolset > Layouts, hovering over a layout will show a link to "Change layout use" which can be used to un-assign the layout as required.
