Views is a WordPress plugin that lets you display post relationships. In our user guides, you can find more information on how to display child posts, related posts, brother pages, fields of parents and fields of grandparents. When you ask for help or report issues, make sure to tell us the type of the relationship you are trying to build and the structure of your data.

How to set up grandparent/parent filters
Started by: PaulS4783
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I am trying to replicate the search shown in the Real Estate reference site, with Makes / Models / Listings instead of State / City / House. The filters don't seem to be working correctly. Solution: It looks like your post relationships use hyphens instead of underscores, so this was incorrect: [wpv-control-post-relationship ancestors="make@make_model.parent>model@model_listing.parent" ... The correct syntax is like this: [wpv-control-post-relationship ancestors="make@make-model.parent>model@model-listing.parent" ... Check the post relationship settings to verify the slugs, or use the GUI to insert the filters. |

How to use Toolset and Newspaper theme together
Started by: rodolfod
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I'm trying to use Layouts, WPBakery Page Builder, and the Newspaper theme together but I'm not able to get my page templates to appear as expected. Solution: Toolset Layouts and WPBakery should not be used together, so it's best to deactivate the Layouts plugin. The Newspaper theme doesn't work out-of-the-box with Content Templates, but you can follow the steps in our Theme Support for Content Templates document to help fix that problem. Add this function name in Toolset > Settings > Frontend Content > Theme support for Content Templates: td_module_single_base::get_content Relevant Documentation: |

Nested views of related posts
Started by: leeR-6
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: Nested Views of related posts don't always seem to be displaying the correct results sorted in the correct order. Solution: It's not possible to order a View of post type A by a custom field in post type B, even if post types A and B are in a post relationship. Also you must check the post relationship filter context. In this case, one View's parent loop was the intermediary post type, meaning there could only be one related post from post type A and one related post from post type B. Relevant Documentation: |
