I tried to update WPViews but it failed and the plugin was no longer showing, so I uploaded it manually by FTP and reactivated it in wordpress plugins.

But there was a problem with the custom template for a custom post type in that it was no longer showing. I clicked to edit the custome template and instead of the old 'legacy' edit it came up with a block edit and it was empty!

I do NOT have toolset blocks installed on this site!
In settings > Editing Experience I have Show only the legacy interface for designing with shortcodes
In Settings > Editor to use for Content Templates, I have Classic Editor.

So WHY am I seeing a blocks editor? Have I now lost the info in the content template?

Not happy as site is not working

Hello,

I assume we are talking about Views content template.

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please check these:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code, and test again

3) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/debugging-sites-built-with-toolset/

4) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL and content template URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks
