[Resolved] Updating Content Templates after Edits Not Working!
This support ticket is created 3 years, 10 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
No supporters are available to work today on Toolset forum. Feel free to create tickets and we will handle it as soon as we are online. Thank you for your understanding.
Having issues getting edits in content templates from Toolset to update.
Keeps showing saving and autosave (repeatedly reloading), same with updating (shows updating, stops on Update for a few seconds, then starts again).
After all that, the page doesn’t actually update.
Haven’t had this issue until today.
All plugins, themes, WordPress are up to date. I did a site healthy check. Also I didn't add any new plugins, so that can't be causing this issue. Updating pages works fine, the problem only occurs on updating content templates from Toolset.
Been using WP for a couple of years now. Never had this issue before.
I've tested updating the content template "Template for Agents" on your website and it completed without any error/warning.
Are you experiencing this while editing any specific content template?
I also checked your website's site health and saw 3 critical errors:
( screenshot: hidden link )
1. An active PHP session was detected
2. The REST API encountered an error
3. Your site could not complete a loopback request
Toolset plugins don't use a PHP session, so to narrow down to the cause of error 1, you can temporarily deactivate all non-Toolset plugins and test with a default theme like Twenty Twenty-One. If the error is gone, you can start adding the disabled items, one-by-one.
Errors 2 and 3 are related to server and security settings, so I suspect it could be coming from your security plugin. If the issue persists, even when you deactivate the security plugin, you can raise these errors with your hosting support team.
I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.
I've been troubleshooting this issue for quite some time now and while doing that, I was able to narrow down the issue to the properties template only. All other content templates and pages can be saved without any problem. Please investigate this issue further to find a solution. I contacted hosting and they cannot help as they are self-managed.
I see some script errors in the browser's console when editing the "Properties" content template.
( on your website as well as the clone on my server )
I'm currently performing some troubleshooting on the clone on my server and will share my findings once it completes.
I don't know what is happening but the issues are keep coming and coming.
Property pages are ALL LOST - example: hidden link
Content template "properties" IS COMPLETELY LOST: hidden link
Page "eigendom zoeken" - plugin that is deactivated and uninstalled still shows up - hidden link
Homepage: ALL PROPERTIES ARE LOST: hidden link
Account page: ALL FIELDS SHOW UP EVEN IF THEY SHOULD ONLY SHOW UP UPON SELECTION (hide/unhide): hidden link
We have worked a week FULLTIME to get the site as-is, and now this.
I am losing my temper here, which obviously you will understand.
I am expecting that all the issues are solved immediately.
as mentioned by email, I have been working on your site trying to identify the problem with the Properties template, which cannot be saved because of errors (both in the JS console and PHP logs). I've been eliminating the suspect blocks (the errors point towards a problem with a Fields and Text or Single Field block) but the errors persist despite removing all of them.
I've passed my findings on to the developers and asked them to look into it, they may be able to identify the problem block more readily, so we'll update again here as soon as we have some feedback from them.
I've managed to get the pre-release versions of the plugins, which are likely to be rolled out next week.
You can either wait for these releases or update them manually by downloading them from the following links:
Blocks 1.4 : hidden link
Types 3.4.6 : hidden link
Forms 2.6.6 : hidden link
Important note: These are pre-release versions that are still undergoing final testing and could be subject to revision before being released.
If you do decide to update these pre-release versions, you will need to manually overwrite the final versions when they are available, because it won't be possible to use installer to update.
I'll recommend to only use these pre-release versions, after making a full back-up copy of the website.
