Hi Waqar,

I'm still having issues. I've figured out how to use Toolset Blocks with Elementor and get pretty close to what I need. I think the issue I'm having at the moment is kinda not related to the original issue, and more of a CSS thing, and if I need to open another thread I will.

I've got a view created with just images and the post link, but I need all the images to display the same size. I can do this when I create a container, and make the background an image. That's fine, but if I do it that way, I can't make the image clickable to the post. Is there anyway to make the background image in the container clickable to the post?

If I add the image block without putting it into a container, all my images are different sizes and I haven't been able to adjust the padding enough to get them the same size in the grid.

Hi Jeff,

To suggest the best way to make the grid images, show in the same size, I'll need to see how they're currently set up.

Can you please share temporary admin login details, along with the link to a page where these images can be seen?

Note: Your next reply will be private and please make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.

regards,
Waqar

I'm still working on this and getting further on my own. But still having issues.

I have managed to figure out how to get all the images the same size using a plugin called Regenerate Thumbnails -- Great. Now all my images on the front end are the correct proportion and fill the 150 x 240 px area that I have given them. HOWEVER... the view is for a 5 column grid and all my images show up on the front end centered down the page in one column. ??? WTH.

I have set up a brand new blank page, with nothing but the view. hidden link. This is supposed to be in a 6 column grid. My view couldn't be simpler. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for writing back and sharing the update.

When I view the "View Test" page, as a logged-in user, the images show in the 6 columns correctly.

But when I view the same page as a regular visitor (i.e. not as a logged-in user), they're shown in a single and central column.

This could be the result of cache from the plugin, server, or at the CDN level (if in use). I'll recommend to clear all involved caches and then check the page again, both with and without login.

HI Waqar,

Yes, what you're seeing is exactly what I'm seeing.. I'm on another PC, not logged in to WordPress or the site in any way, and I'm using in-private browsing to eliminate any potential there might be something cached. I just see the images in a row on the view test page right down the middle. There won't be any logged in users on the site so a regular visitor needs to see the page as it's designed. I've tried multiple browser types too like Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge etc all on a completely different PC from the one where the WordPress admin is logged on, and it's all the same one column.

I confirmed if I log in on to wp-admin on the separate PC and click View Site in WordPress, it looks fine. If on the same PC, while logged into wp-admin, I launch a private browsing session to the same homepage, it shows in one column.

I purged the cache on the Siteground Optimizer plug-in. I don't see another plug-in that would do caching on the server side.

Thank you for confirming this and this is indeed strange.

Since I'm not able to reproduce this behaviour on a test website, the issue seems specific to your website.

To troubleshoot this, I'll suggest the following steps:

1. Please make sure that WordPress, active theme and plugins are all updated to the latest versions.

2. It would be interesting to test this with all non-Toolset plugins disabled and a default theme like Twenty Twenty.

If it's fixed, you can start adding the disabled items, one-by-one, to narrow down to a possible conflicting one.

3. In case the issue still persists, I'll need a clone/snapshot of this website so that it can be investigated on a different server.

Please let me know how it goes and I've set your next reply as private.

Thank you for sharing these details.

Based on what you've shared, I understand that the most of the confusion and frustration is a result of mixing content created using Elementor and Gutenberg/blocks.

Mixing the content created through two different page builders/editors is generally not recommended. There are two distinct use cases or paths, which need to be clarified first:

1. If you're using only WordPress default blocks based editor (Gutenberg) for creating your page content, then you'll use Blocks based views, as shown in most of our up-to-date training lessons/tutorials.

2. However, if you're creating the page's content using a third-party page builder/editor like Elementor, then you should be using the classic or legacy views, which uses shortcodes instead of the blocks.
( you don't have to install Toolset Views for this as same features are also available from within Toolset Blocks too )

Here are some useful guides on using the classic/views and Elementor with Toolset Blocks:

https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/views/
https://toolset.com/documentation/legacy-features/views-plugin/
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/using-toolset-with-elementor-page-builder/

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
