We have 2 related CPTs created with Toolset - Resources & Resource Items. Resource Item has 3 flds - File Upload, URL and Language (Select Fld).

The scenario: When editing a Resource and using the pop up form to add a new Resource Item.

What's happening: Form works fine except that users try to use the File Upload fld to select an item already in the Medial Library the Search box doesn't work. The Filter Media dropdown works fine and the Search box shows but is not accessible.

Site is hidden link

Hello,

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please check these:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code snippets, and test again

3) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:

Thanks for picking this up - I may have to delay any meaningful response for 24 hours as we have other issues - likely with the theme - so are now running in a 'no plugins' mode for a day to see how things go. Once we've turned Toolset back on I will follow up on this.

In the meantime I can say that ....
- Toolset is up to date
- we aren't running any bespoke PHP/JS code at the moment
- I failed to mention that the Media Library search function was accessible when accessed via an individual File Upload field on the Resource Item edit page ...problem seems confined to the pop-up form on the Resource edit page.

I realise you won't have much to say at the moment and will ping you here when we have Toolset switched back on.

If you can exclude other compatibility issue, please provide the database dump file in below private message box, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

My apologies for the delay but we had another issue that potentially involved a theme/plugin conflict and I wanted to eliminate that before taking up any more your time.

I will install the Duplicator plugin now and provide links to a coy of the site this afternoon. Thanks for you patience.

Thanks for the details, I am downloading the files, will update here if find anything

Thanks for the details, I can install the files in my localhost(Fresh WP installation + the latest version of Toolset plugins + 2020 theme)

I have tried these steps:
Dashboard-> Resources, find and edit a "Resources" post, for example:
hidden link
click button "Add Media"-> Media Library, search with a keyword, it works fine, see my screenshot espa.JPG

Is there anything missing?

The problem only occurs in a specific scenario: when editing/creating a Resource Item CPT from within the Resource CPT edit page

So if you open/create a Resource and then try to add/edit a Resource Item from there then you get the modular pop up form as expected.

This form only had 3 flds:
- Language (selection fld)
- Resource Link (URL fld)
- Item Upload (File Upload fld)

The problem is with the last field - when we try to add a new file or edit an existing one the ...when the form offers access to the Media Library the Search Box here is not accessible.

Just FYI if we follow this process from a Resource Item CPT edit page the Search Box is fine.

I had already tried as you mentioned above:
when editing/creating a Resource Item CPT from within the Resource CPT edit page

See my screenshot above:

Please point out problem "Resource CPT edit page", also provide detail steps to duplicate the same problem

#1836167

Your screenshot looks like you're adding media in the main edit area - the problem is with the 'Add New Resource Item' button further down the page.

Click this and then click on 'Select File' in the pop up form ....this is where the Search box is not accessible.

Thanks for the details, I can duplicate the same problem, and have escalated this issue, will update here if there is anything news.

Hi Michael

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, Luo is on vacation and we have a couple of unexpected absences so that we are a little stretched.

Let me look into this and get back to you (I'm finishing today, I'll reply in the morning).

I've confirmed the issue on a clean test site and have escalated that to the developers for them to address.

I'll update you again when I have some feedback to share.

Thanks for looking into this - the issue seems to have been resolved now. It seems that it was related to adjustments made to _upload and _memory settings made to address issues we were having with the theme .... so likely not an issue with Toolset.

Sorry 🙁
