I am trying to:

Be able to see all columns under related content table like it used to be.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

hidden link

I expected to see:

All columns showing where we can view all items without having to click to edit them.

Instead, I got:

A wrong empty table

We used to have 4 columns listed when we went to a resources page to edit. This issue only happens on the backend. Now, we only see the default title and we are missing 4 columns. They are set to be displayed. The apply button on this window is gone too.

Hello,

I have tried the credentials you provided above, it is not valid, I get this error:
ERROR: The username or password you entered is incorrect
Please check it.

And the problem you mentioned above is abnormal, I have tested it in my localhost with a fresh wordpress installation + latest version of Toolset plugins, it works fine, see screenshot columns.JPG

Please check these in your website:
1) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2019, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code snippets, and test again

2) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:

Hi Luo Yang

Thanks in advance for the help.

I understand that the problem is abnormal, but it was working before for years, so I appreciate your help in figuring put why it broke after the last updates.

I can test step number 1, but again, every one of the plugins and the theme we need so even if it is a compatibility issue, we need to get it fixed. And no, there isn't anything showing on the debug.log or the Chrome Dev Tools.

Make sure you test those credentials in staging.futurereadysolutions.com, not on the live site (futurereadysolutions.com). even the FTP credentials provided are for Staging, nor for our Prod site.

Thanks again for the help and will be waiting for your reply.

Thanks.

Yes, I have tested those credentials in staging.futurereadysolutions.com, get the same error message as I mentioned above, see screenshot: login-error.JPG

Since it might be a compatibility issue, please provide a copy of your website in below private message box, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

Hi Luo Yang

Thanks for your help once more.

I reset the user and you can try now again to login. It should work now. I just tried.

You have FTP access and WordPress admin access, this is an staging site, so feel free to disable any plugin if needed. We run en ecommerce site, so we don't feel comfortable have a copy on someone else's computer. Hope you understand.

Please, let us know if you were able to login and if you have any questions that can help you troubleshoot this faster.

Thank in advance

#1347719

Thanks for the details, I can log into your website, will update here if there is anything found

#1347797

I have done below modifications in your website:
1) Dashboard-> Toolset-> Custom fields
Find and delete custom field group "Resources Details"

2) Create a new field group "Resources Details"

3) Add those four fields into above new field group.
You can restore the fields by this:
Click button "Add New Field"-> Click button "Choose from previously created fields"

Please test it again, check if it is fixed, thanks

More help:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-custom-fields/
section "Choose the kind of fields to insert":

By selecting Choose from previously created Fields button you will have the possibility to add previously created fields if they were created in another Post, User or Term Field Group.

Hi Luo Yang

Sounds great! I will follow your steps and recreate on Production.

Are you totally sure, I won't lose any of the info added in those fields ?

Please let me know

Thanks

#1348565

Yes, it won't lose any of the info added in those fields.

But in case any other problem, please backup your website database first.

#1348613

Hi Luo Yang

I follow your steps exactly, and when done, it shows exactly like before. Is there any other step you did that maybe you didn't list it here ?

If you go into the staging website now, you will see it is a new Field Group, and still shows like it showed before.

I did see before doing anything that it was fixed after you worked on it, but when i replicated the steps, it just doesn't work for me, is there any missing step ?

Appreciate your help and your time on this

Thanks.

Thanks for the details, I can see the changes in your staging site, please edit the field group "Resources Details":
hidden link

in section "Settings for Resources Details", you are using below settings:
Appears on
- Post Type(s): Resource Files
- Template(s): Resources

The problem is in second setting: Template(s): Resources.

And I can duplicate the same problem in my localhost with a fresh WordPress installation + The latest version of Tooolset plugins, so I have escalated this issue, will update here if there is any news.

And currently, you can remove the second setting: Template(s): Resources, and test again.

I have tried it in your staging site, then it works, see screenshot staging3.JPG

Escalated this issue to our 2nd tier supporters.

#1353321

Thank you Luo Yang

By recreating the custom field and unchecking Template, I was able to get the right information to display.

Thank you for your help, please let me know when this is resolved with 2nd tier support, so we can enable template again.

Thanks

#1353907

Hi Eric,

Here is the reply I got from the development team about how this should work:

-If a Content Template (on which a CFG depends) is assigned to a whole post type, the fields of the CFG should have their columns in the Related Content metabox and they should also be displayed in the Add New Item dialog.

-The fields in Quick Edit per individual posts should be displayed only of the post actually has that Content Template assigned -So this should respect the real situation of each post.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions to improve this.

Thanks.
