I am trying to:
Include an image in a custom post type. My images are stored on AmazonS3 and served through hidden link. So they end up with URLs such as hidden link as their file URL in the media library.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: (only on the back end, I can create a support account if needed)

I expected to see:
The image be accepted as valid in the image custom field control.

Instead, I got:
An error message that said the field required a valid image. Screen shot at hidden link

Hi there, Amit here, I am the Toolset Support Manager - this issue is already fixed in our development versions, we are testing and it'll be released soon.

Hi after a bit more investigation I don't think that the issue here is related to the known issue Amit mentioned, which is related to Toolset Blocks dynamic sources. I wasn't able to replicate a scenario where my Media Library items contain URL parameters in their URLs, so I've asked for some assistance testing this. I've asked my 2nd tier support team to take a closer look at this issue and I'll let you know what I find out.

You will likely need to login to my site to see it, or setup a site with the Media loud plugin, cloud image storage, and the imgix CDN. The query strings are needed to authenticate to the CDN server on the back end. Since the file is no longer on the local filesystem, that's the only way to reference it in the media library.

MediaCloud plugin...

Okay yes, it would be helpful to see the issue in the browser. Please provide login credentials in the private reply fields here, and let me know which post type I should look at to see this image field. Then I'll be able to provide more information to my 2nd tier team, and try to get some feedback for you. One possible workaround is to use a single line text field to store the image URL, instead of using an image field. This will bypass the image file name limitation and allow you to choose these images in the post editor screen.

The post type is Discussion. The media field is Risk Matrix Slide and is shown on the right-hand column in the edit screen, at the top of the Discussion Content field group.

The login password doesn't seem to work for me. Could you check and provide an update in the private fields here if necessary? Thank you!

#1416757

Got it, thank you. I was able to confirm the issue in wp-admin and provide some feedback to the 2nd tier support team. It's also possible to replicate the issue if you copy + paste a URL with parameters into the image field input directly:

hidden link

We have escalated the issue to our developers and I will keep you posted here as I receive more information.

Christian, do I need to leave that dev/staging site as-is for any further testing or anything you guys might need? I'm developing right now on localhost so it isn't an issue, but would like to be able to push to the staging site in the near future.

#1417051

I'm done with what I need from dev/staging, thanks!

Wanted to follow up -- I figure with the holidays there hasn't been much progress, but wanted to keep this top of mind. I do kind of need to know if this is going to be fixed relatively soon, as I do pay monthly for the service that hosts the images for me, and should stop that bill if Toolset isn't going to support the use case in the near future. I need to figure out something else for image CDN, basically, if this is the case.

Hi, I can see activity on this ticket and another similar issue in Forms, so I suspect this problem will be addressed relatively soon. Unfortunately I don't have any more concrete delivery schedule available right now, but I will keep you posted.

#1456085

I have received confirmation that the fix for this issue will be included in the upcoming Types 3.3.9 release. I don't have a final date for that release yet, but I wanted to let you know the permanent fix will be coming at that time. I will let you know when that is available for download. Thanks for your patience.

This is good to hear! I'll check out the update as soon as I see the notice.
