Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
Do you mean that you have created a basic view without custom search and later on you want to add a "Custom Search" to your view - if this is true - you should select your view block from the block navigation bar and then activate the "Search".
Please check the following screenshot: hidden link
No, My view already have the search, what I'm trying to find is the custom search *settings* to let me select "the only search result" option, like the example. In my view It doesn't appear how can I make it appear?
for that - you should have to follow the following steps:
- Add a view block
- Select/chose your view you want to add
- On right panel you will see the options to add on search form or search result or both
You have to remove your view block - then add a view block and select your desired view and then check.
If you do not know how to see it, please share problem URL where you added your view as well as send me admin access details.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
Hello! Minesh won't be available for a couple of days. If you don't mind, I'll continue with you on this ticket.
I confirm that the credentials are working and I am able to log into the backend. I just need to know, what are the pages that you are using:
- The page where you built the view? If the page has multiple views, let me know which one exactly?
- The page where do you intend to put the search form only?
-The views that I created were in producers and markets pages each one have a search field and they work pretty well.
-And the page that I intend to put the search form only is in the home page (markets garden). when I search from there the results have to lead me to producers results or markets results just writing text in the field.
Check the following screencast, I tried to add the search form on a different page. I was able to add it, but the search will not work if the search form does not have a submit button. hidden link
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Oh yes! that's what I need thank you but now I have the complication of how to set it up for multiple pages, I mean the search is in the home page for example and I don't quite have the idea of how can I make the search take me to option 1, 2 or 3 (Events, Markets or Producers). However thanks for the help! if I can have some help with the last I wroted It could be wonderful but so far again Thank you!
Well, you can't really have the search form to work for 3 views, a search comes from ONE view and will redirect, upon submit, to that particular ONE view.
If you want to implement a search form that will let you choose one of the 3 views, you will need to implement it manually. It can't be generated by Toolset. You can, for example, add the 3 views forms to your page and hide them using a custom CSS code. Create your own search form, and using custom Javascript code, decide which form to use, and you can programmatically trigger a click event on its submit button. Does it make sense?
However, for support rules, we are able to handle only one issue at a time. This helps us to bring you a better service and also helps other users to find all the information here exposed. For that reason, I have to kindly ask you to mark this ticket as resolved and open a new thread if you need further assistance.
