I can't get the custom fields I created to show up in my post type. I’ve shut off all other plugins but Toolset, re-installed Toolset, made sure I was using a theme that played nice with Toolset (Astra), tried to find help in other forums and they all say to troubleshoot the plugins and use a backup theme. I tried that with the Twenty Twenty theme. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I’ve gone over the tutorials and have the practice site Cooking Made Simple that I’ve been using as a reference to see if I was missing something. I’m stumped.

The reason I purchased this plugin was so I could create an advanced search for the website I'm working on. The site is for a church and they want to be able to search through their sermons by speakers, series, and date.

Hello,

Are we talking about a compatibility issue with Astra theme?
https://toolset.com/documentation/recommended-themes/
The Astra theme theme is in our recommended theme list.

I don't think there is such kind of issue as you mentioned above, please check these:
1) Switch to original Astra theme
2) Follow our document to setup a content template for your post type posts:
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/creating-templates-to-display-custom-posts/

I have enabled the private message box, you can provide your website credentials if you need more assistance for it.

I have tried the credentials you provided above, it is not valid, I get below error:
Error: The password you entered for the username Jacq*** is incorrect

Please check it, make sure it is a valid admin account, thanks

I have tried all credentials you provided above, none of them work for the htaccess window, please check it, update here when your website is ready for debug and test.

Thanks for the details, I can login your website, but I don't see the problem you mentioned above.

See my screenshot: custom-fields

I can see those custom fields without any problem.

Please check these:
1) Clear your browser cache, and test again
2) When you edit/create a "Message Titles" post, click "Options"(the button at the top-right of page)-> Preferences, make sure you have enabled the option "Field Group for Message Titles", see my screenshot Preferences.JPG

I do see the fields on the test site but I still don't see them on the actual site. I cleared the cache, checked the settings and they're correct (see screenshot) and I still don't see the fields. See my attached screenshot of what I see on the actual site.

Any other thoughts? It must be there if we can both see it on the test site. I can't figure out why they won't show on the working site.

There should be some problem in your working site, I suggest you check these:
1) If you are using some cache plugin, clear cache of them, for example, Redis Object Cache.
2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2021, and test again

I don't find difference between those websites.

In the Live Site, you are using 19 plugins + 2 Must-Use plugins + 1 Drop-in plugin.
If you need assistance to locate the problem, please backup your website, and provide the FTP access of the live web site in below private message box, I need to deactivate plugins/theme in your website.

#1913967

I can login with the FTP access.

In order to disable the Drop-in plugin of your website: WPMU DEV Hummingbird Object Cache
I have tried to rename this plugin file "/site/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php" to "object-cache.php-bak", but get this error message:
mv /site/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php /site/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php-bak: permission denied

Can you check it? remove that file or rename it to something else. thanks

#1915445

Hello,

I just removed the plugin you referenced from the test and live sites. Not sure what difference that will make, since the test site also had that plugin and there is no issue with seeing the custom fields on that version. Now that the plugin has been removed, the test site still shows the fields in the custom posts and the live site still does not.

I hope you can figure out why the test site is working and the live site is not. Also, thanks for all of your help with this issue. : )

The file (/site/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php) is still in your website.

I have done below modifications in your website:
1) Rename the folder /site/public_html/wp-content/ to /site/public_html/wp-content-bak/
2) Upload Toolset Types + Blocks plugins + 2021 theme in your website, it works fine now, see my screenshot harv.JPG
Can you confirm it?
So there should be some compatibility issue in your website, you can install/activate other plugins/theme, try to locate the problem one.
