Thank you for contacting Toolset Support. Can you please explain more about your requirement?, Whether you want to filter posts at the runtime (i.e. Display Posts on the page already filtered by an Author) OR you want the user to filter the posts using dropdown selection or checkboxes for the Author names?

1. To filter posts by an Author, before they are displayed -- please setup filters like explained here: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/filtering-views-query-by-author/

2. To filters posts by an Author using a Custom Search Form -- if you want to allow users to filter posts by Authors through a form or dropdown selection or checkboxes (parametric search form). You can add filters to your search form by following this doc:

-- Please note Custom Search Filters don’t allow to filter by WP standard post fields (including post_author), you can only filter by Custom Fields and Taxonomies.

- What you can do, is create custom Taxonomy or a custom Post Fields Group using Types according to your Authors, and then add a dropdown or checkbox form filter to search those fields or taxonomies:
