Tell us what you are trying to do?
I am trying to copy the sidebar that I created here: hidden link to display on my newer development site here: hidden link After a lot of work, this is the best that was able to get. But it's not as nice as the original. I can't seem to get the Polaroid effect to work in the newer site.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
no
Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?
Old: hidden link
New: hidden link

There has to be an easier way to do this. I tried the module manager, but I don't see any way to edit the formatting now.
thanks, Alan

Hi Alan,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

To troubleshoot this difference, I'll need to see exactly how both these sidebar views are set up in the admin area.

Can you please share temporary admin login details for both these websites, in reply to this message?

Note: Your next reply will be private and it is recommended to make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.

regards,
Waqar

Here is a comparison picture of the two sidebars.

Thank you for sharing the admin access.

While reviewing the setup on both websites, I noticed a number of differences:

1. The "Polaroid Gallery" plugin is active on the "dev1" but not on the "sbox2". This plugin is showing a number of errors in the browser's console on the "dev1" website.

2. The "Enable Classic Editor" option is disabled on the "sbox2" website but is active on the "dev1" website.
( WP Admin -> Divi -> Theme Options -> Builder -> Advanced )

When this option is active, the Divi theme disables the blocks-based Gutenberg editor from the website. Since the view that you have placed in the sidebar for the dogs is also using the blocks editor, it would explain, why it is not working correctly.

3. The widget section ( WP Admin -> Appearance -> Widgets ) on the "sbox2" website is using the classic widget interface, whereas the widget section on the "dev1" website is using the newer blocks-based interface.

It seems that is because the "Classic Widgets" plugin is active on the "sbox2" website, but not on the "dev1" website.

So in summary, you'll have to make consistent decisions about whether you'd like to use the new blocks-based editor on the website or not, and then implement the design elements accordingly.

Hi Wagar.

Thanks for looking at these two sites. In Dev1 I disabled the Polaroid plugin and also disabled the classic editor. I have enabled the classic widget in sbox2 because without it, I am getting an error message. Evidently, WP does not really like the block editor in the widget area. So now the two sites should be set up the same.

I'm still not showing the same result in both sites? I'm not really sure where to fix this. Any additional guidance you may offer is much appreciated.

Thanks for writing back.

If you'll check the sidebar on the "sbox2" website, you'll see that it is showing the view "Sidebar Multi Dog View".

You can see how this view is set up on the edit screen of the page "Multi Dog View for Sidebar" and by clicking the "Return To Default Editor" button from the top:
hidden link

The sidebar on the "dev1" website is calling the view "Sidebar Multi Dog View", but that view is not saved correctly, so it would be better to create a new view on a new page similar to the one from the "sbox2" website and then select this new view in the sidebar widget.

I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.
