I am having trouble embedding a vimeo clip using blocks.

The field I am sourcing is just the link.

If I use the non-toolset block and add the vimeo link, it embeds.

If I use toolset and add the field with the link, it only shows the URL

I tried [embed][types field='video-url'][/types][/embed]

and that didn't work either 🙁

Hi Jane,

Thanks for asking! I'd be happy to help.

The way WordPress embed feature and shortcode processing works, they can't be used at the same level.

For what you're planning it would be best to use the "Embedded Media" type field (instead of the URL or single-line type fields).

Through that field, the URL from Vimeo and other supported services ( ref: https://wordpress.org/support/article/embeds/ ) will properly show the video player.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any further assistance around this.

regards,
Waqar
