Hello,

I created a CPT with an image field. My client (with the role editor) uploads the photos while adding the "post" and needs to rotate some of them.

How would you do so ?

Regards, Volo

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Sorry, I didn't get you well. When you say "needs to rotate some of them.", What do you mean by this? You want to select uploaded images?

#493131

Hi Minesh,

By rotate the image, I mean change its orientation. E.g. from vertical to horizontal.

No - this feature is not available with CRED image upload field.

Hi Minesh,

The client (with the role editor) uses the regular WordPress back-office (with permissions managed by Access). It is not a CRED form.

Hi Volodia,

You won't be able to do this from the insert image section. You will need to click the edit image portion when you are uploading the image.

The rotation will need to be done using the default wordpress media editor. After the image has been edited then you can add it to the custom field.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Volodia,

When you are inserting an image into our Types custom field it brings up the default wordpress upload window to upload your image.

Once your image has been uploaded you simply need to click on Edit image under the image description in the upload window.

Edit your image and then insert that edited image into the custom field .

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shawn,

I tried the steps you proposed.
Clicking on the "Edit image" link in the upload window opens a new tab. After editing/saving the image, I close the tab and go back to the upload window of the edit post but the edited image is not available there.

Thanks, Volo

Hi Volodia,

Thank you for trying.

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the site so I can test this to see what is wrong ?

The private fields will be enabled for your next response.

Also please let me know the CPT that I should look at.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

The website is in prod and in the hands of my client.
Can't you simulate this situation in a local environment ?

N.B. plugins WP Smush and WP Super Cache are installed.

Thanks, Volo

Hi Volodia,

After editing the image I was still able to find the image that I edited.

Please ensure that you click on the Save button when you edit the images in wordpress.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Picture worth a thousand words.

1- Image field -> select image button
2- Upload image -> edit image link (new navigator tab opens)
3- In new tab, rotate image, save image, then close tab
4- Back to first tab, rotated image not present for selection

Regards, Volo

Hi Volodio,

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the website so that i can check on this for you ?

If the media editor is not working then it would be out of our scope to provide a solution but I can still have a look for you as it works fine on my end.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Volodia,

Not sure what happened but when i tried it works. See Screenshot for example.

I rotated that image and then refresh the post page and then it showed up.

Thanks,
Shane
