Hi,
I am creating taxonomy terms that apply to a specific child taxonomy only.
I see that I cannot specify which child taxonomy I want the term to be applied to: the terms appear in every taxonomy item.
Is there a way to restrict the term to a specific child taxonomy?
Maybe more details can be helpful in order to understand what I am trying to achieve, since I believe there are other ways to do it.
I am building different archive pages, one for each term within a taxonomy.
Now, my client doesn't want to edit these pages with the editor (classic or block), but would like to just use custom fields instead.
Is there a way to create and assign custom fields to a specific archive page? Or a specific taxonomy term?
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.
Your observation is correct and there is no straightforward feature or hook available to conditionally display the taxonomy term fields for the selected terms in the admin area.
One workaround I can think of will require a fair amount of code customization to load custom CSS code to show/hide the fields in the term edit screen, as discussed in this thread:
