Hi,
I have Formidable forms that maps into a CPT (churchmember) and the related fields. It works super good actually.
So I use the forms to add/updated the CPT data NOT the churchmember on the menu.
My question is: How can I change the way a CPT entry looks when it is viewed? See the attached pic. See all the space
above and below the name?
Hope this makes sense ..... 🙂
Thanks
Mel
Dear Mel,
How do you setup the "CPT entry"?
If it is content area of single post, you can use Views content template to design/format the post content area, see our document:
Content Templates – WordPress Custom Page Template Without PHP
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/view-templates/
Selecting a Content Template to display Single posts
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/setting-view-templates-for-single-pages/
Hi Luo,
Thanks for the fast reply.. 🙂
I am not very technical with toolset.
1. I created the CPT (churchmembers) and fields with types.
2. I add/update data through forms (formidable forms) which works super good! The form maps the fields to the CPT fields.
3. I display a grid of staff pics and when I click it, a lightbox pops up the rest of the CPT fields (content). This also works good.
I use the excellent contentviews pro plugin to do that. Toolset should buy that plugin, it is like an advanced views plugin.
Problem: When the content is displayed in the lightbox it is a mess.... It also looks the same when I goto the CPT menu and display one of the enteries from the churchmembers list.
So what you suggest is to use a single post template? so the content will be display better in the lightbox?
If so not sure how to do that.
Thanks
Mel
Luo is on vacation. This is Minesh here and I'll take care of this ticket and try to help you further. Hope this is OK.
Well - as I understand, you want to display the single post content but in popup, to design popup, you should check the lightbox plugin you are using.
Can you share the problem URL so I can check where exactly you have added the lightbox as well as what content you want to display?
Thank you for sharing access details.
Well - I'm on this page:
=> hidden link
I do not see any lightbox when I click on images nor I can see any fields you mentioned - do I miss anything here?
Hi Minesh,
This is strange, I added a reply yesterday and it is not shown?
I have been trying some things so I moved the lightbox page to the top right of the site. hidden link
click the top right menu item staff grid test.
I was trying different things that might affect the cpt layout.
When u click the pic, the content is displayed from the Beaver builder/views template that I created. Great documentation on that. 🙂 You can look at the toolset dashboard and see my template.
Problems:
1. the pic on the left side of the template does not show?
2. the position field is also empty
3. the groups field also.
Other fields that have content are ok.
Thanks
Mel
Well - If I'm not wrong, It seems you open a support request at the wrong place. I do not see you are using Toolset views at this place.
I see you are using the Content View plugin and using this plugin you created the view and you are displaying the view on this page:
=> hidden link
I suggest you contact the "Content View" plugin support to have further assistance on your issue:
=> hidden link
..
Sorry - did you add anything?
Hi Minesh,
I dont think you understand my problem.
1. hidden link click at top right menu and select staff grid test
2. click a staff member
3. view the staff template in the lightbox that I created with Beaverbuilder/views
Problem:
a. the staff template works but some fields are missing
b. on the left should be a staff pic?
c. on the right the position and groups data is missing but the other fields are fine?
solution:
Please login with my tempadmin and edit the template at the toolset dashboard! Tell me now to fix the template
Thanks 🙂
Mel
Well - I understand your problem but the thing is that if again I'm not wrong that you are using following shortcode to display your view:
[pt_view id="819951f8qu"]
What I'm saying this is not the Toolset Shortcode to display the view. This shortcode looks like belongs to the plugin Content View plugin. I see this view is located here and not belong to Toolset:
=> hidden link
This is how you can display the Toolset view - for example :
[wpv-view name="churchstaff"]
I do not see any evidence that you are using Toolset view or content template here. If you are using it - can you guide me where you added it?
Hi minesh,
You are focused on the wrong part of the problem.............
1. views integrated with Beaver builder allows me to create cpt templates which I did per my messasge above.
2. when the content is displayed by contentviews pro it works fine and the lightbox displays the cpt template created by the views/BB. the problem is some of the data is not displayed.
3. look at the toolset dashboard like I said and u will see the template that is being used in the lightbox.
#3 is the problem because some cpt fields data is not shown....
?
Mel
OK - I get you now and I see now the content template you are asking me to look at it. I was confuse as you were telling me that you were using views and between toolset view and content view.
Now, the image and few fields you are telling me is not showing because those fields are not set in the backend.
For example - check this member - you will see the fields user pic and position are not set:
=> hidden link
That is why you are not able to see in when you click on it here:
=> hidden link
But as soon as you set those fields - for instance select "Staff" for the position field and save above post and relode the following page and click on "Pastor Rodrigues" member - you will see the field:
=> hidden link
The fields were missing because its not set in the backend.
