Hi,
I had to bind the CT to podcast "Kristof De Witte over Onderwijs in coronatijden" because it urgently needs to go live, but I created another draft podcast for testing.

Hi,

Thank you for waiting.

During testing on my website with a similar WPML settings, custom post type and a content template, I couldn't reproduce this issue. It suggests that there is something specific to your website involved.

To troubleshoot this, I'll suggest the following steps:

1. Please make sure that WordPress, active theme, and plugins are all updated to the latest versions.
( there are a number of updates pending on your website )

2. It would be interesting to test this with all extra plugins disabled (i.e. other than Toolset and WPML) and a default theme like Twenty Twenty.

If it's fixed, you can start adding the disabled items, one-by-one, to narrow down to a possible conflicting one.

3. In case the issue still persists, I'll need a clone/snapshot of your website so that it can be investigated on a different server, without affecting the actual website.

Please let me know how it goes and I've set your next reply as private.

regards,
Waqar

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the duplicator package and I've managed to deploy it successfully on my server.

I'll be performing some tests and troubleshooting around this content template and will share my findings, as soon as this testing completes.

Thank you for your patience.

regards,
Waqar

Hi,

Thank you for waiting.

Just wanted to update that although I couldn't reproduce these two issues with the content template on my test websites, I've shared this report to the concerned team for further review.

I'll keep you updated on the progress through this ticket.

My tests also confirm that, if you'll create a new content template and assign it to the same "Podcasts" post type, it will be assigned to the new and existing posts correctly.
( you can copy the content from the existing "Single Podcast – Template" content template )

regards,
Waqar

Hi, I just tried to duplicate the existing Podcasts template, but as reported earlier with the screenshot, it is not visible in the Templates overview table. The total count should be 27, but there are only 7 visible.
Only when I switch to the tab "Usage for single page" do I see the Podcasts Single Template, but not in the overview, so it is not possible for me to make a duplicate.
But then I thought, what if I make a small adjustment and save the template again, so I did, and now the Podcasts template does show up in the overview, see new screenshot, AND when I create a new Podcast the correct template is automatically used, like it did in the first place.
So, we need to find a way to get all 27 templates "active" again, because otherwise, they are not automatically used when creating new posts.

Thank you for sharing your findings.

We've also seen that all the content templates become available, when the WPML plugin is disabled, which suggests that the issue seems to be related to the language of these content templates.

I'll send a reminder about this to the concerned team and will let you once we have more updates to share.

Also, do you recall if any major change was added to the WPML languages used on the website?
( for example, if you've added/removed the language(s) or changed the primary language etc )

#1770787

We have never changed the primary language since the site was launched a few years ago and we have never added or removed any languages.

#1770795

Thank you for pointing towards WPML, I have just disabled and enabled the main plugin and now all 27 Toolset Content Templates show. This might have fixed the issue.

#1770927

Thanks for the update and glad that this is sorted now.

I've tested on my server's copy and can confirm that deactivating WPML plugins and then enabling them back, brought back the missing content templates.

I'll share this with the concerned team as well and will let you know if any further action is needed on your end.

You're welcome to mark this ticket as resolved, but please do let us know through a new ticket if you still see something out-of-place.
