Can't search and select custom post in the relationship tab with user role

This support ticket is created 3 years, 1 month ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hello, when I login into 'contributor' user role account, I can't select a custom post in the relationship TAB when adding new custom post.

Suppose I have relationship between custom post types A and B. When I create a post for A, I can't search for B's posts to link the relationship with the post I'm creating. I can only create a new post for B or link other B posts that I and only I created before. But cant search and link other posts that other people created. I'm using Toolset to manage access, I also tried to give full permission, but it's no use.

Hello,

I assume we are talking about the "Connect existing XXX" button.
You can try these:
1) Install and activate Toolset Access plugin, you can download it here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) Dashboard-> Toolset-> Access control-> Post types, find both post types of the relationship you mentioned above
grant all privileges for user role "contributor", and test again

Hello, as I mentioned above, I already have access control, and already given full permission to the contributor for A post and B post, also for the intermediary between A and B.

I set the full permission to wp core Post and for the other posts I selected 'Same read permission as posts'.

But it's still not working, I can't find the posts in the 'Connect existing XXX'. I can only connect my posts.

I have tried it in my localhost with a fresh WP installation + the latest version of Toolset plugins, it works fine.

Please check these in your website:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to WordPress default theme 2021, and test again

3) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/debugging-sites-built-with-toolset/

4) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, you can put the package files in your own google drive disk, share the link only, also point out the problem post URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks
