Editing Post with Toolset Form without showing all post data around the Form (edit post on a separate page)

Problem: Solution: 1. Head into a Content Template or any backend text editor and insert the Edit Form you created - using the Toolset "Forms" Toolbar Button. You will set the Form to edit a specific Post when inserting this ShortCode. Pass any Post you want, it does not matter just yet which post it is, important is to tell the form to edit a specific post. 2. Now, replace 1369 (which is the post ID of any random post we selected to edit in the Form's ShortCode), with the URL parameter ShortCode that Toolset offers in the "Fields and Views" Toolbar Button: [wpv-search-term param="your_term"] 3. This ShortCode can now be inserted in the Page where you want this Form to edit posts. 4. In the single post template or any loop of posts, you can now insert a Custom HTML Link that links to the above-created page, with the form. 5. This will now create a Link, which leads to our page (page-with-edit-form) where the Edit Form is, and it passes the Post ID to edit in the URL parameter your_term. This Parameter is dynamically populated with the Post ID you currently see. 6. Hence, now you can head to any post or view loop (in the front end) where you inserted that link, click on "Edit This Post", this will lead you to some URL like https://site.com/page-with-edit-form/?your_term=1369, which is the Page with the Form that lets you edit that post (1369) |

I can’t get the map displayed to put a marker where the address is.
Started by: mindyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I created a map and a marker but the marker does not appear on the map as expected. Solution: This is an API key issue. If Google Maps API key is restricted by domain, that may not work for users with multiple domains or subdomains. To solve this, you can enter a second API key for Google Maps, in the Toolset settings. When added, this second key is used exclusively for server-side requests. This means it is never exposed in HTML and does not need restrictions. If you want extra security, you can restrict it, but only by IP addresses, not by domains. Relevant Documentation: |

differences between – WPBakery and Toolset or Toolset Blocks
Started by: mindyB
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: The issue here is that the user wanted to know the difference and benefits between Toolset Blocks and the WPBakery plugins. Solution: Toolset Blocks 1. Since this is an in house plugin, there is guaranteed compatibility with our Toolset functions such as getting data from parent posts, adding views visually to your editors etc. 2. Compatibility with the core wordpress is always ensured. 3. Staying in one family of plugins always ensures that items work and work well together. If there are any issues you will only need to speak to one team rather than going between Toolset and WpBakery. 4. Integrates with the native gutenburg editor for posts and pages. 5. Allows for live previewing of expected data while editing a view or a page. Cons 1. Early stages of development so many features are lacking. 2. Since this is a first release unforseen issues may arise. WPBakery. I cannot comment much on this, however I can say that since this is from a different team there is the potential for eventual conflicts as well as items not working how they are meant to. This will increase debug time as for bugs and compatibility our development teams would need to consult on how to resolve the issue . One benefit tho is that WPBakery has been around for quite a while and they are now a well established page builder. |
