Additional Roles – conditional based on both being selected
Started by: lindsayH
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I would like to use a conditional to show information to Users in a specific role "Manager". My site allows multiple roles, and [wpv-current-user info="role"] only returns the first role. So if the User's secondary role is Manager, this won't work in a conditional to test for the Manager role. Solution: You can use Toolset's Access control shortcode to test if the current User has any role, including primary and secondary roles. [toolset_access role="manager" operator="allow"] I am a manager [/toolset_access] Relevant Documentation: |

Delete a View and add a Query Filter in Blocks
Started by: lindsayH
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I would like more information about using the Block Editor. Specifically, how do you delete a View created in Blocks? How do you add a Query Filter to a View created in Blocks? Solution: Click "View" in the Block navigation dropdown menu to automatically select that View in the Block Editor. In standard Block Editor view, the View block will be highlighted and a toolbar will appear above the View block. There is also a "Top Toolbar" option for the block editor, in which case the toolbar will appear at the top of the Block Editor, not connected to the actual View block. You can choose different Block Editor view options by clicking the vertical 3-dot menu at the top of the Block Editor screen. If you want to add a Query Filter, you should be able to do that in the right sidebar of the Block Editor, while a View Block is selected. If the View was not created in Block Editor, you cannot edit Query Filters in the Block Editor. The View must be built from scratch in the Block Editor to use that feature. If you cannot see a right sidebar, click the gear icon at the top of the page to toggle it on. With the View block still selected, you can click the 3 dot menu in the top toolbar to show a menu where you can delete the View block, or hit backspace, or use the keyboard shortcut shown in the menu. |

Problem: The mobile menu button is slow to appear when using the Kreative Pro theme. On their demo site it is very fast. Solution: Check the Cookie Consent settings. Manual seems to work better than automatic. |

Showing empty p tags in views on the front end.

Problem: I'm just wondering if any other solutions to this or why the filter affects wpv-post-body and wpv-post-excerpt in two different ways i.e. adding a paragraph to the post-excerpt and removing as expected from post-body? Solution: Shortcode [wpv-post-excerpt] does not apply filter hook "the_content" by default, unless it is retrieving data from post content when post excerpt is empty. Relevant Documentation: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/views-shortcodes/#wpv-post-excerpt |

Upgrading Types and Views – error with Types: Warning: require_once
Started by: lindsayH
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I'm trying to update Types and Views but I see a message: Warning: require_once(/home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/types/vendor/toolset/onthego-resources/loader.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/types/vendor/toolset/types/wpcf.php on line 32 Solution: It seems that some files are missing from the Types plugin. Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Types manually using FTP if necessary, then use the automatic update process to update other plugins. |

Toolset Access breaks site if updating after 2.7.2
Started by: lindsayH
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I am trying to update Toolset Access but I get two errors: PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-user.php on line 739 PHP Warning: array_key_exists(): The first argument should be either a string or an integer in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/types-access/application/controllers/permissions_post_types.php on line 447 Solution: In this particular case, it appears that there is a conflict with the site's theme. Activating a default theme during the update prevented the error, and then switching back to the custom theme was possible without errors. |
