[Resolved] Will Toolset plan to leave the API?

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to know if Toolset will abandon the API functions that are available.

Solution:

Given that the API functions are apart of our core functions that give users the flexibility to perform customisations, there aren't any plans to abandon the API.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Although Toolset always claims it builds a website without code, I do a lot of coding if I need advanced customization. I go through the home page of Toolset, I cannot find the menu item linked to https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/, will Toolset have a plan to leave the API support?

Since Gutenberg launched, it is very difficult to find documentation about the reference for classic editor, will Toolset total leave all classic shortcode?

Hi Kelvin,

Thank you for getting in touch.

No these API functions are a part of our Toolset plugins' core functionality so I don't believe these API functions will be removed.

The shortcodes will still be available.
Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

Could you please provide the site url, I found lot of useful pages were removed from Toolset menu.

I do remember there was some about describing the Custom Field element, it also includes the sample of php code.
Best regards,

Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,

Here is the link below for our General API document.
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/

However the specific page that I believe that you're referring to is the one below.
https://toolset.com/documentation/customizing-sites-using-php/functions/

Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

Thanks for your reply, why those useful link not be found from site menu or footer menu? Strongly recommend to add them back.

Hi Kelvin,

They can be found, they're just in a different location.

If you click on the documentation link in the Main Menu you will be taken to the page below.
https://toolset.com/documentation/

On this page there is a section called "Programmer Information" where links for our API documentations can found.

Thanks,
Shane
