[Resolved] Valid URL address pointing to the image file with Developer environment

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Is there a way to disable this security query?
We get the error message "Please enter a valid URL address pointing to the image file.", because it is searching for a valid domain in the URL. We have no valid domain in our development environment, so we can't save the post due to this security query for the URL.

Solution:
- Currently the valid and supported URLs are the ones starting from
http://localhost/
http://yourdomain.com

- Also please try to rename your development environment without any number (characters only name).

As of today, this is submitted as a feature request to our development team for further consideration.

We created an Image Custom Field, which is linked to a page post type. We are working in a developer environment called "ianus7", so the picture URL of our sites in development have something like: hidden link

If we set an image to test some things, we get the error message "Please enter a valid URL address pointing to the image file.", because it is searching for a valid domain in the URL. We have no valid domain in our development environment, so we can't save the post due to this security query for the URL.

Is there a way to disable this security query?

Hi Alexander,

Thank you for contacting Toolset Support. No, there is no way to disable it.

I have tried to look for a workaround but could not find anything matching to your case. Its may be possible using some custom coding to make it happen. We have some recommended list of service providers here who can implement such things for you: https://toolset.com/consultant/

Thank you

Thanks for your quick answer!

I am not satisfied with the answer to contact some other third party programmers to solve a problem with some custom code. This problem is clearly an issue with Toolset itself and makes development with Toolset difficult.

You should really think about a work over for this sercurity query. Searching for a domain in an URL causing trouble in development environments.

Minesh, thank you for clearing this up, that it's the digist "7" causing the problem. We will consider to rename our development environment.

Keep up the good work and many greets to Kolkata! 🙂
