I recently purchased Yoast SEO plugin to manage FAQ / How-To markup on my (under development) website using the Gutenberg blocks.

I know Toolset doesn't officially support schema in any capacity but this is a critical area for many so thought I might have a solution. The block works to output the text content and I am able to use toolset shortcodes within the body, but it is not outputting the schema markup.

I opened support ticket with them and they've asked me to review with Toolset support to see what requirements are nededed to support using the Yoast Schema API - hidden link

Can you please help me evaluate if my current configuration on this it would be appreciated! (I can share WP login info).

Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

I tested the "FAQ" and "How-to" block's from Yoast SEO plugin on my test website and noticed that the relevant structured data is included in the page's markup automatically.

Have you tested your page with any of these blocks in Google's rich results testing tool?

In case the schema structured data is not being included in your website's page markup, please make sure that WordPress, active theme, and plugins are all updated to the latest versions.

It would also be interesting to test this with all extra plugins disabled and a default theme like Twenty Twenty.

If it's fixed, you can start adding the disabled items, one-by-one, to narrow down to a possible conflicting one.

In case the issue only persists, when Toolset plugins are active, you're welcome to share temporary admin login details, along with a link to an example page with these blocks.

Note: Your next reply will be private and please make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.

regards,
Waqar

Hi Waqar,

I just disabled all plugins and enabled the 2020 theme and am getting the exact same result.

I placed the FAQ block within content template which is being customized with the page name using the toolset shortcode (so the FAQ would be different)

Can you share access to your test website so I can see how you have added the block?

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for waiting, while I performed some further tests.

It seems that the way the Yoast SEO plugin adds the structured data for "FAQ" and "How-to" blocks, it only gets included when these are part of the page/post content directly.

Here are the links to pages from my test website where these blocks are included directly:

When you'll test these pages in Google's rich results testing tool, you'll see the proper schema data.

And here are the pages where these blocks have been added through Toolset content templates:

When you'll test these pages in Google's rich results testing tool, you'll see that the schema data doesn't get included.

I'm going to share this website's admin access details in the next private reply. Please confirm if you're seeing the same results on your website too and I'll escalate this to the concerned team accordingly.

regards,
Waqar
