Using Toolset Layouts to create parent layout, and using Elementor for content

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I installed Elementor to use on a site that already had Layouts installed. I thought that a great way to use the two together was to create the parent structure with Layouts, and then use Elementor for the content area.

Solution:

It is not recommended to use Elementor Pro plugin with Layouts plugin, see details here:

Hello,

I just purchased Elementor Pro because it seemed the Toolset and Elementor were integrating with one another. However, I installed Elementor to use on a site that already had Layouts installed. I thought that a great way to use the two together was to create the parent structure with Layouts, and then use Elementor for the content area.

When I go to a page, there is a section that allows me to choose a Toolset Layout for that page (or to keep the Layout that is used for a main page/post/post type).

Afterward, when I choose "Edit with Elementor", the Toolset Layout is actually the one shown on the front-end editing view.

Then, when I update/publish the Elementor page, the Toolset Layout that I chose is replaced with whatever the default Toolset Layout is for that page/post/post type.

So, if there was a time when I wanted the default Toolset Layout to remain for most items, but for a handful of items, I wanted to use a different parent Toolset Layout AND use Elementor for the content layout, I cannot.

I realize most of the previous support tickets say that you should not use two "page builders" together. However, Toolset Layouts at the main parent structure, and Elementor as the content layout structure seems like a great combination. Especially since the Layouts Content Editor isn't really available anymore.

Hello,

You are right, it is not recommended to use Elementor Pro plugin with Layouts plugin, for example, Layouts plugin is based on Bootstrap framework

But Elementor plugins use their own responsive gird system:

So I don't think it is a good idea to use two "page builders" together, even you can use Toolset Layouts at the main parent structure, and Elementor as the content layout structure, it will conduct other unexpected results.

But you can add a feature request for it:
