[Resolved] Ultimate CSV Importer pro plugin does not work as advertised!

This support ticket is created 6 years, 4 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Why do you continue to promote the Ultimate CSV Importer pro plugin on your website?

I have had nothing but trouble trying to get it to work. Their support requested login details to the wordpress site to FIX the problem of Custom WooCommerce fields, I added using toolset, not appearing when importing and mapping CSV Data...

Their solution to fix the problem was to DELETE the 12 custom fields I created and add three standard Woo fields (price, sale status, stock status)!!!

They are now denying they deleted them. I have site backups before and after their meddling. I have proof that they deleted the fields and that their plugin does not work as advertised. They even provided me with a video of what they did... further evidence.

I bought the plugin by seeing it promoted on your website... They refuse to provide a refund and I have spent way too much time trying to resolve the problem... so I tried WPAllimport and it works as advertised!

There are many 1-star reviews on https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-ultimate-csv-importer/reviews/?filter=1 which i came across in my frustration.

Why do you continue to promote this plugin on your website???

I'm sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with Ultimate CSV Importer.

There is an open issue regarding importing posts with them: https://toolset.com/errata/posts-are-not-connected-when-using-the-wp-ultimate-csv-importer-pro-plugin/

We collaborated with the plugin authors who wanted to add an integration layer for it to work with Toolset, but I'm passing on your feedback to the relevant people so that they can review this and see if we want to continue to promote their import plugin.

I've been demoing WPAllimport and it definitely works as advertised and their support is EXCELLENT!

I just have to accept that ULTIMATE CSV Importer does not work as advertised and that they do not provide refunds and their support is terrible! They asked to fix the problem so I gave them WordPress access... and their solution was to delete all the Toolset custom fields I created and added to the Woocommerce products. Really! That was their fix... delete all the custom Toolset fields, that don't appear on import and mapping! None of the custom Toolset fields appeared while importing and mapping and their solution was was to delete the Toolset custom fields!

We actually bought the ULTIMATE CSV Importer plugin because of the feature list that is promoted on your Toolset website... We should have gone WPAllimport... it would have saved a lot of time, and if anyone else reads this then I hope they can learn from other's mistakes. I wasted so much time and energy trying to sort it out with them.

Note: I asked for a refund the very next day after purchase, and several times after that.. they refused even though their is a 15 day refund policy on their website....

Caveat emptor!

My colleague who was involved in this collaboration is back from vacation now and says you are not the first user to complain, and she is going to review this to establish exactly how well the integration works (including the WooCommerce example you raised) and identify and fixes or changes that need making, and contact the plugin authors to discuss their handling of issues with them.

We do value your feedback and will act upon it.

Can you please clarify with them why they do not provide any refunds?

I stated very clearly with them that their plugin does not work as advertised and requested a refund several times... so they insisted on the wordpress login details so they could investigate the issue and fix it.... The Result, they deleted the custom fields I added to wordpress using Toolset... hmmm!!! and then denied it.

They do not honour refunds even when it is indisputable that their plugin does not work as advertised... deleting the custom fields that were added to woocommerce using toolset is evidence of that!

I really can't devote any more time to this as I wasted a lot of time trying to sort it out with them.

WPAllimport works as advertised and they provide excellent support!

Hello Tony,

Two weeks ago, right after I promised it to you, I contacted the marketing department (sort of) of the plugin, and got this reply:

"I have got this report from the Support team:

The customer approached us with the upload restriction problem and the team has helped him the fix. We have sent videos for better understanding and made the package perfectly work for him. And our team doesn't delete or ask him to delete any of the custom fields he created earlier. Since the customer found another solution, I've requested refund to my next level of management. Please do give me sometime, I will keep you informed on their decision."

I've never heard back from the person even if I made a few attempts. Let me do it once again.
