I am trying to use a view on a CPT template and some very odd things are happening.

1. If I create a view, and select the options ... if I go back to edit the view (to set ordering for instance) the view completely forgets what I was selecting and all the fields that I selected in the view loop report "nothing found for this query" ... no matter what I do.

2. when the view isn't "losing it's way" It seems to not be retrieving / displaying data.

for instance ... you can see in the screen shots that it is only displaying ___ ___ Version 3.0 instead of 810 Invoice 3.0 ... and it's correctly displaying the 810 Invoice data directly above ...
what would be causing this weirdness?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

It is on our staging server ... I could probably arrange access but it would be tricky to set up

What is the link to your site?

I am at a loss here ... both of these issues are totally confusing me

Here is what the view looks like in Gutenberg ... and when I preview the toolset template ...

note: Toolset is showing all the rest of the text on the page just fine ... just not the view.

Hello,

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please check these:
1) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to WordPress default theme 2021, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code snippets, and test again

2) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:

3) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, you can put the package files in your own google drive disk, share the link only, also point out the problem page URL and view URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

I can install the duplicator package in my localhost, I assume we are talking about the problem post "810 Invoice", and content template "Template for X12 Documents":

the problem surfaces when you look at the template for Template for X12 Documents ... and when you "view it on the front end"

and there IS a view block on my version ...

I get only the database dump file, and can not see the view block in the content template "Template for X12 Documents", see my screenshot X12.JPG

Your screenshot shows you are using other plugins, in order to avoid other compatibility issue, I suggest you try to setup the post view with classic editor, for example:
1) Dashboard-> Toolset-> Views, create a new post view:
- Query "TBX Document Version" posts
- Filter by:
Select items from the TBX Document Version group that are related to the Post where this View is shown.
- In view's loop, display the "TBX Document Version" post information

2) Edit the content "Template for X12 Documents" again, display above post view.

It works fine with your duplicator package in my localhost
