[Resolved] Toolset and Elementor issues after wordpress 5.5 update

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I recently updated my wordpress version to 5.5 and since that update I've found an issue with the elementor toolset view widget.

Solution:

Since Toolset Blocks plugin is based on WordPress Blocks editor(Gutenberg), view block won't work as expected in other page editor(Elementor), it is not recommended to use both page editors(Blocks editor and Elementor) to design the same page/post.

I recently updated my wordpress version to 5.5 and since that update I've found an issue with the elementor toolset view widget. Before, when I selected a view that had a custom search I was able to separate the search form and the search results with 2 different widgets, infact as soon I you selected a view that had a custom search the "custom search" option would automatically pop up. Now that option is not displayed at all. I've attached some pictures to show what I'm referring to. Thanks!

Hello,

How do you setup the view? with Blocks editor or classic editor?
If it is Blocks editor, you will need to create another view with classic editor, and test again.
Since Toolset Blocks plugin is based on WordPress Blocks editor(Gutenberg), view block won't work as expected in other page editor(Elementor), it is not recommended to use both page editors(Blocks editor and Elementor) to design the same page/post.

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!

I'm using both the blocks editor and Elementor. I've been doing so without problems with dozens of views in the past and never had any issues. The recent wordpress 5.5 update caused this compatibility issue so I ended up downgrading wordpress while I work on things and I'll update it back when I'm finished.

Designing views with the block editor is definitely more efficient than the classic editor, but at the same time, Gutenberg is just awful in my opinion so that's why I chose to design views and use Elementor to display them. I know that it's not practical for Toolset to be developed with elementor as it's a paid plugin, but I feel like it would drastically expand toolsets features and capabilities from a functionality and design standpoint. Thanks!
