[Resolved] taxonomy filter

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Im trying to be sure i understand the filter "Value set by the current page where this View is shown"

In my case i have a post type called towns that has specific data about each town. There is a taxonomy to select the town's name.

Im hoping this selection means that if the page slug and the taxonomy slug are the same the view will pull in that towns info

As an example
Page name is site.com/salem
and the taxonomy slug associated with that towns cpt = salem

Do i understand this right ?

There might be some misunderstands.

Value set by the current page where this View is shown:

The View is always inserted somewhere. That page where the View is inserted is responsible for setting the taxonomy term. This is good when you want the same View to return different results, according to the page it’s inserted to.

In your case, you can try another option:
"Value set by View shortcode attribute", and use the shortcode [wpv-post-slug] as the attribute value:
