This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I made some single templates in Elementor Pro to display the content of some custom post types, made with types which worked flawless until updating to Toolset Types 3.1 and Toolset Views 2.6.4

Solution:

Please try the latest version of Views plugin 2.7 + Types 3.2.1, and follow our document to use Elementor and Toolset templates together:

Hi Toolset Team

I made some single templates in Elementor Pro to display the content of some custom post types, made with types which worked flawless until updating to Toolset Types 3.1 and Toolset Views 2.6.4

After the update it still looks ok in the Elementor preview but it doesn't load anymore on the page.

Did anybody experience the same ?

Any hints how to solve it are highly appreciated.

Hello,

It seems to be a compatibility problem with Elementor Pro plugin, please try these:
1) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2017, and test again

2) If the problem still persists, please provide copy of your website, also point out the problem page URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

Thanks for the details, it is a known conflict issue, which have already escalated to our developers, so currently I suggest you downgrade to Toolset Views plugin version 2.6.3, you can download it here:

https://toolset.com/download/toolset-views/#changelog

And wait for the fix and further updates.

Hi Luo

Thanks for looking into this 🙂

I downgraded and look forward for the update.

Hi Luo

I just seen the Views Update 2.6.4.1 and couldn't resist to give it a try.

There I noticed that all CSS added in the views are not getting loaded 🙁

Rollback to 2.6.3 fixed it again.

Thanks for the information, our developers are aware of it, and working on it, I will update here if there is news.

Hi Luo

Just FYI - gave it a try with Views 2.7-b1. Unfortunately the CSS added to the views are still not loading in this version.
Hopefully the devs will have a look into this before the final release.

Best regards, Peter

Hi Luo

Thanks for letting me know ?

Bad News - it is still the same and I seriously start to worry to use Toolset together with Elementor.

Another thing then this issue that makes me worry is that the CSS that is added together with the view seems not to get loaded.

It looks like there is a workaround when adding the CSS to the Elementor Widget (only available in Pro) which isn't a solution to me specially when the Views need to get moved to another site - like from a dev-/test site to a productive site. https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-toolset-with-elementor-page-builder/matching-elementor-styling-when-using-toolset/

Thanks for the feedback.

We have already updated the document about "using Elementor and Toolset templates ":
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-toolset-with-elementor-page-builder/create-templates-for-custom-post-types-with-elementor-and-toolset/#limitations-when-using-elementor-and-toolset-templates-together

If you are using Elementor to design templates for your custom post types, do not assign a Content Template and an Elementor Template to the same content. If both templates are assigned to the same content nothing will be displayed.

Also, do not insert an Elementor Template into a View’s Loop Item or Content Template. This can also lead to nothing being displayed. If you need to use an Elementor Template in the Loop, insert it directly within the wpv-loop tags.

Please test it first, if the problem still persists, please provide a copy of your website, also point out the problem page URL, where I can see the problem:
After the update it still looks ok in the Elementor preview but it doesn't load anymore on the page.

Hi Luo

thanks for your reply

Now this made me laugh a lot ? I mean it was perfectly working in 2.6.3!

Sorry that I can't accept this as a solution and if this is Toolsets best shot I hope not too many people already used Toolset together with Elementor.

How would you then suggest to assign a child view to a single template when Elementor is used?

I think this is something the Toolset and Elementor Teams should definitely seriously address and solve, as both are promising integration with each other.

Or then just officially state that this combination should be avoided and used at own risk, as anything can break at anytime.

#1156076

Thanks for the comment, as you can see, Views plugin 2.6.3 was released in July 11, 2018, till now, both Toolset and Elementor plugins have been updated a lots of times, there might be a lots of changes.

They are not suggestions from me, those words I mentioned above are copied from the document, that is the official state from Toolset side:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-toolset-with-elementor-page-builder/create-templates-for-custom-post-types-with-elementor-and-toolset/#limitations-when-using-elementor-and-toolset-templates-together

So currently, I suggest you follow above document to test it in your website, and feedback if there is any problem with it. thanks

Hi Luo

Thanks for your reply and sorry - it wasn't personally directed at you.

It just made me laugh that obviously the only solution Toolset can offer is to adjust the documentation.

As for the moment even with the latest Elementor / Elementor Pro Version, Toolset Views 2.6.3 still is working properly I will just miss the updates until it's either fixed or one of the Toolset Types updates will break Views 2.6.3
