[Resolved] Setting up a new directory

This support ticket is created 5 years, 6 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
- I would like to set up a new directory of national support services
- Have visitors be able to search the directory by keywords e.g. "depression"
- Have visitors be able to browse the directory by "category" e.g. health and care, and subcategory "mental health"
- Have visitors be able to filter through results e.g. by cost (free/paid/mixed), type (therapy, support group etc.), country, designed for (parents, children etc.)
- Is it possible to add new filter criteria as it comes along? e.g. finding a new support type, or new support designed for a group not yet specified.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
- No, can you please recommend which is best to follow and the key options I need to select to set this up?

Also I have Importer Custom Fields Pro, so it needs to be set up so I can upload new support services automatically.

Based on what you've shared, you can use our Toolset plugins to develop a directory website that you're planning.

Our Types plugin will help you register the necessary custom post types, custom fields, and custom taxonomies and Views plugin will allow you to show this data in the form of customized views, with search filters. And all this setup will be flexible, which means you can include new elements to it, as your project evolves.
