Repeating Field Groups not saving field data

This support ticket is created 4 years, 6 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi there!

I've built a page for a client with a Repeating Field Group that has many entries, and they just reported today that they are unable to add more Repeating Field Groups to the list. It either doesn't save the entry, or it saves just the title and the fields are saved as empty.

I tried adding the following to my wp-config.php file: define('WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M'); but the issue is persisting for the most part and it just occasionally will work after a few attempts.

Could you help look into this?
It's a very important page to my client and I spent most of the day trying to figure this out with no success.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

It seems that the user has reached the max_input_vars limit on their server. Please try to increase the max_input_vars, double the current value, and check if it helps.

If it does not, activate PHP debugging and check the debug.log file for any possible errors. Check this section of the following article https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/debugging-sites-built-with-toolset/#php-debugging
