I recently updated WordPress to 5.1.1 and also updated all the toolset plugins. However, post the update when I am trying to connect one post to another (a result content post type to a company post type), I am no longer getting a drop down of existing 'company' posts when I click on connect existing company. When I type in the name of an existing company in the box, there is no drop down that comes and also the save button is not clickable.
This used to work properly prior to this update.
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.
Can you please go to WP Admin -> Toolset -> Relationships and see if there is a message "Your site has relationships that use the old storage."?
If you do see this message, please complete the migration using the "Run the migration" button at the bottom and then check the post connection interface again.
I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.
regards.
Waqar
Hi Waqar,
I went to Toolset>Relationships and did not see any message regarding old relationships.
Just to clarify, we have been using the current implementation for the past couple of years without an issue. However, when I updated to WordPress 5.1 and also updated the Toolset plugin's this issue surfaced (since last week).
Am also getting an issue when trying to use the Gutenberg Paragraph block (it gives an error saying 'this block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed). Not sure if this is related to the inability to use 'connect an existing relationship' that we are facing with toolset.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the update and sorry to learn the issue still persists.
Can you please share the temporary admin login details, so that I can see how everything is set up in the admin area?
Note: Your next reply will be private and please make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.
regards,
Waqar
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the admin access.
I've noticed that some script errors are showing in the browser's console while viewing the website's admin area and they're resulting from the "WP All Import Pro" plugin.
This script conflict explains the unexpected behavior that you're experiencing with the dynamic elements.
I'll recommend updating the "WP All Import Pro" and all other plugins to the latest versions and then check these admin area elements again.
I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.
regards,
Waqar
Reopening the thread per client request in chat:
I am having an issue with relationships no longer showing the existing custom posts. I had chatted with Waqar on this earlier (https://toolset.com/forums/topic/relationship-button-no-longer-showing-existing-custom-posts/) and he had identified that there seems to be some script errors being caused by WP All Import.
I have since updated WP All Import but the problem is still taking place. When I de-activate this plugin the error is not taking place.
There seems to be some conflict between Toolset & WP All Import. Can you help in addressing the same?
Dear Waqar,
Just as a further update on the issue, I seem to be facing the issue only on an older site (that is still using Toolset Layouts) and not on a new site (that only uses Toolset Blocks). Could this be the cause of the conflict?
Best Regards,
Ashi.
Hi Ashi,
Thanks for writing back and for sharing the update.
I've noticed that there are about 11 plugins (including the Toolset ones) that are not updated to the latest versions. Also, the active theme "GeneratePress" is also with version 2.4.2, whereas the latest version is 3.0.2.
To avoid these script errors and conflicts, I'll recommend always update WordPress, active theme, and plugins to the latest versions, as soon as they're available.
If the issue persists after you've updated everything, you're welcome to share a clone/snapshot of the website so that I can investigate on my own server.
