We are just starting our first Toolset project 🙂

We installed a virgin copy of latest WordPress, added the Framework Installer and then downloaded the Real Estate demo system, having first installed the required Tool set plugins as the Framework Installer instructed. We thought as this was our first project it would be the easiest learning curve.

All went well and we had a working development site - home page loaded and we could search and the maps were working.

However as soon as we change ANYTHING with a pre-definied imported propety from the installer, we lose all the page formatting and end up with literally just the narrative. So the map, pictures, slider and everything else vanishes, which is really bizzare.

Load an unedited property and it is OK, load the property that we have just tweaked the narrative (nothing else changed) and it breaks.

We tried three times with each of the supplied templates and always the same outcome.

So we then tried with the Travel demo system and this works fine.

Do you have any clues as to why Real Estate has this problem and the Travel Tour one does not?

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Adrian

Hi, the main problem here is Elementor and Toolset Layouts should not be used together on the same site. They are incompatible, and lead to problems when activated together. For best results, deactivate Elementor on any site made with Toolset Layouts. Since the Real Estate site is built with Toolset Layouts, Elementor should not be used. Deactivate Toolset Layouts if you want to use Elementor. For more best practices with Toolset and Elementor, see our docs here: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-toolset-with-elementor-page-builder/

Hi Christian

Thanks for coming back to me and we never got as far as using Elementor, we only installed it because one because of of the three template options with Real Estate said it was a "required" plugin LOL

I have just used the Framework Installer to load a fresh copy of Real Estate with Astra theme selected and the same outcome with an already created property.

However I quickly created a new property (hidden link) and it added it with styling. But as soon as I selected the option to "disable" the Title, the formatting on this page vanished again and re-enabling the title by un-ticking the box did not reinstante the styling?

Is there something else I need to do?

Can you replicate this behaviour at your end?

Don't worry about changing anything as we have not started any real work on this project just yet.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards
Ade

Okay this is odd, for some reason the Toolset Layout is no longer applied to new or edited Home posts. As a temporary workaround, after you create or edit a House post you can go to Toolset > Layouts. In the Template for Post Types tab, click "Use this Layout for x Homes" to apply the correct Layout to new or edited posts. I will ask my 2nd tier support team to take a look at this issue so our developers can be made aware of the problem.

Okay it seems that the problem stems from having the Toolset Blocks plugin active instead of Toolset Views. The reference site was originally created using Toolset Layouts, but Blocks designs take priority over Layouts designs. The solution in this case would be to disable Toolset Blocks and activate Toolset Views. I have asked our team to update the reference site to fix the issue, and I have applied the fix directly to your site. Blocks has been deactivated and Views has been activated. Now you can see the Template Layout panel in the post editor screen, and when you create or edit a post the Template Layout will be applied correctly from now on.

Sorry for the inconvenience here! Let me know if you continue to experience issues where the design is lost during an update or when creating a new post. In most cases, you can fix the issue by selecting the appropriate Template Layout and resaving the post.

Hi Christian

That sorted the problem and many thanks for identifying this as the problem.

We have another question, concerning the map marker.

So on the home page - hidden link all the map markers are displayed correctly, including the one for my place in Aberdeen, Scotland.

However if you go to any of the individual houses, the marker is not shown. But if you click on the "Focus on Marker" button, it zooms the map into the correct location, albeit marker is still not shown.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Cheers Ade

Let's address that in a separate ticket, since it's really a different issue. Thanks for helping us keep things organized.
