This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

We're using Pantheon for our Dev, Test, and Live environments and I wanted to know what key I should be using for Dev to Live environments?

Should I use the hidden link key to register and update on Dev and then just push that to hidden link (Live)?

Or, should I change the key on Dev to the Live key right before pushing to the Live environment?

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

The Toolset registration is needed for the automatic plugin updates to work. Our general recommendation is to register on the production website and keep updating the plugins manually on the development one.

But, if your workflow involves deploying all the changes and updates on the development website first and then pushing it all on the production one, you can alternatively register the Toolset plugins on the production website. The plugins will continue to work on the production website, except for the automatic updates.
