I am making an offer for a new project and "wonder" if this can be done with toolset in combination with elementor. I have used toolset for other project and "missed" some important features that were one of the reasons to buy/use toolset. So it's more a sales question:).
The view and archive options working with elementor, as i thought when I started to use it "simple" I understand later that for example with the views you have to make your own "template" or HTML/css. Now it does not look "bad" I think that toolset is a great product and has powerful features. But i "hoped" that when creating a view I simple could use it in the elementor widget(s) with there custom filter options so the whole styling and markup is done with the elementor widgets.
As far I understand this is not possible or am I totally wrong ? or are the future plans to make it available? I was in my last project blocked as Archive does not work in combination with Elementor. Is this available in a future release?
Another approach could be to use the "toolset" template system is that a good option with elementor ?
Again really fantastic product and hope to make my next project again with Toolset in combination with Elementor.
cheers
Is there any documentation that you are following?
Let me see if I can explain this as best as possible 🙂
With views we only provide an html skeleton for your content output. The styling of this content is up to the user or the theme.
Lets say you want to use the bootstrap css with views, you will need to add the appropriate bootstrap classes and templating design to the raw data that our views will output. Our development team didn't want to lock the users into a fixed design so its left up to the user to design how their content looks.
So essentially view tells wordpress what to display and the user controls how it is displayed.
I suggest giving it a good read through as the knowledge gained there would prove beneficial to your future projects.
For your questions here :
1. As far I understand this is not possible or am I totally wrong ? or are the future plans to make it available?
A. I'm assuming here that you are referring to the Styling of the view when it is added to an elementor widget. It won't naturally inherit the styling that elementor uses unless you apply the classes to the html elements that are generated in views.
2. Another approach could be to use the "toolset" template system is that a good option with elementor ?
A. From our documentation I know that creating custom archives isn't possible with elementor so a Toolset only solution would be required here using our Custom Archive option.
Please let me know if I was able to thoroughly answer your questions.
