I am trying to show my custom posts in the front end. I am using your tutorial : "How to build directory and classifieds sites using Toolset". The first part about Setting up the custom post types, fields, and taxonomy went well, and everything showing up correctly in the back-end. But now i try to show the post in the front-end, and nothing showing up.
I expected to see the post (without styling)
Instead, I got nothing.
I already checked if the "normal" blog posts are showing up, and yess it showing up correctly on the website.
Thanks for the fast reply! The problem is that whenever I go to the single page of the created custom post, i see nothing in the front-end at this moment. So for example; when you go to my custom post-type called "Advertenties", and then to my first post called "voetbal1" and then you click on the perma link hidden link i see nothing in the front-end?
Could you please make a example view for me, then i can see how it works?
Actually it does display, but i'm assuming that you want the custom fields to display as well. See Screenshot
So if you want the custom fields to display as well. In order for those to display you need to add the shortcodes in the screenshot to your content template. See screenshot
I have checked the webpage with other browsers, and when i use internet explorer the page show up, but when i use google chrome, the page does not show up?
The only problem remaining is the fact that my custom post uses the standard style of wordpress, see screenshot. I already made a custom content template, but the styling keeps the same.
For example right under the post wordpress is displaying my name (can) name of author. But I want to make my content template from scratch, and i dont want the prestyling of wordpress.
Actually the default styling is going to remain from your theme.
The only thing that will change is how the content is being displayed. Instead of the default way that your theme does it , the content will display using the Content Templates setup.
So you will need to set things up in the content template exactly how you want it.
The problem is that the content template did not change the way how my content is displayed. The default layout for my content stays the same. See the screenshot for what i mean. The selected red are the default wordpress content display, and does not change with my content template.
I understand the issue but the areas that were highlighted in the screenshot are controlled by the theme's template file and not the content template.
The content template controls the layout of the actual content from the edit page on the backend.
In order to modify the areas highlighted I would recommend that you contact the support team for your theme as they will know the appropriate files to edit to remove these areas from your display.
