I have a new client who has an old theme, the theme has a few post types, taxonomies etc and I'd like to keep all the existing data while separating it from the theme and only manage it in toolset. You can see them in this section of toolset hidden link is there any way for me to migrate them into toolset so I don't lose any data when switching themes?

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Even if you switch the theme, the data will not be lost. But, it won't be visible on the admin area, until you register the same CPT and taxonomies as the theme.

First, try to edit the CPT and the Taxonomies in Toolset, just to copy their "slugs" because that's the most important piece of information. Then, switch the theme, and register a new CPT with the same slug as the theme's one. Register the custom taxonomies with the same slugs as the theme, and you will be able to manage their data from the admin area. Does it make sense?

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
