I noticed images uploaded through a CPT seemed not to attach themselves to a post ( uploaded through the post's add media button) I could attach them manually from the media library just fine. However on new posts or existing posts where i've manually attached images the option in the drop down to show images "uploaded to this post" is missing. Is there any thing i did when creating this CPT im missing that's causing this behavior.

I have another CPT type in this same site where the images attach and are display in the media library as expected

Dear Steve,

I can not duplicate same problem, here are details steps I tried, please correct me if there is anything missing:
1) Create a custom post type "my-cpt" with Types plugin
2) Create a "my-cpt" post, click "Add Media" button, click tab "Media Library", in the first dropdown menu, I can see the option "Uploaded to this post" without any problem, see screenshot Uploaded-to-this-post.JPG

And in case there is any compatibility problem, I suggest you try this in your website:
deactivate other plugins and switch to wordpress default theme, and test again

Luo thanks I had previously deactivated the plugins- sorry i forgot to mention that. But not the theme. Turns out it was a bungled up function a prior developer had created.

Sorry to bother you

Much thanks
