Tell us what you are trying to do?

I am building a Therapy Service Directory, so very specific to psychotherapy and counselling - not a general directory

Is there any documentation that you are following?

I have been trying to learn Toolset using the courses but the information isn't really detailed enough and assumes that I know how WordPress structure works. I have lots of experience developing website content and SEO but I'm not a programmer. I know that this is not beyond my ability but I seem to be going round in circles. What I want is to find someone who I can pay to spend a day with to really get to grips with the elements I need to use.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

I don't know what you want me to say. I have build Custom Post Types, Custom Fields and then used the custom posts types to create some individual posts but although I can see archives appear dynamically I can't then click through to the individual post ... I am just going around in a loop.

What is the link to your site?

My site is hidden behind an Under Construction page as I didn't want the search engines finding and crawling the pages as I am using content I have created for one of my other sites.

I really want to know if you can help me find someone I can pay to work with to train me in the basics. Not design, that's fine I am strong on that just on the use of Toolset for developing the basic structure.

Regards

Brian

Hello,

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal:

I can see archives appear dynamically I can't then click through to the individual post

Please try these:
1) Dashboard-> Settings-> Permalinks, choose one of Common Settings, for example: Post name, save and test again
2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, and test again

I have enabled the private message box, if you need more assistance for it, please provide your website credentials in below private message box, also point out the problem page URLs, thanks

We can help you on Toolset issues, you can create different ticket for each question. If you need other custom codes support, according to our support policy:

gym types taxonomy options for form.JPG

I still feel that the documentation is falling short. Although your videos make using toolset look very easy the fine tuning of options isn't explained, there are hundreds of questions a beginner to toolset, but someone who is quite experenced at designing and building wordpress websites, can't find answers to.

Example

In the demo website 'Gyms' that I am referring back to when I hit a problem, when looking at how the 'submit gym' form is created I see that the option 'gym type' (a taxonomy) allows for the person filling out the form to see 'checkboxes', 'dropdowns' etc ... but on my form on my live site i don't have this option when building the form just the option to 'let visitors select popular terms' or 'not to select popular terms'

In all the documentation and all my searching (I have now spent hours trying to search and find a similar request int he forums) there is no clear explanation of how to show these options.

Please take note that you are selling 'toolset' as a 'no php' system and make it sound very simple to use, I am not asking for something complicated but you are not providing enough 'basic' documentation for me to use Toolset' I don't want to spend months clicking about trying to 'discover' the answer.

Please could you help me on this specific problem ... displaying the option to allow taxonomies as 'checkboxes' or 'dropdowns' in the CRED forms.

Thanks

I have now worked out that I needed to keep the 'hierarchical' option switched on ... this is a good example of how I needed this to be explained so I didn't waste time having to click about and discover the answer ... no one and no where was this answer to be found on your documentation, lessons, videos ... it's very frustrating.

I think there are some misunderstandings, there are two types of custom taxonomy within WordPress:
- hierarchical taxonomy, just like the WordPress built-in taxonomy "Category", you can select and add new terms in admin side, and within Toolset Post forms, you will be able to see the options as the screenshot you mentioned above:
https://toolset.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1766975-gym_types_taxonomy_options_for_form.jpg

- flat taxonomy, just like the WordPress built-in taxonomy "Tags", you can type-in tag name, and setup the terms, within Toolset Post forms, you will be able to see the options as the screenshot you mentioned above:
