[Resolved] Import terms to custom taxonomy

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to import terms into a flat custom taxonomy.

Solution: Toolset doesn't import terms, nor does it import posts, but I can show you a simple workaround that requires no extra import software:
1. Create a comma-separated list of terms you want to import like Alpha, Beta, Gamma
2. Create the flat custom taxonomy and assign it to any post type
3. Create a draft post in that post type
4. Copy + paste the full comma-separated list of terms into the flat taxonomy input field
5. Click "Add" to import the term list

Trying to import a non-hierarchical set of terms into a custom taxonomy. I tried this: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/importing-hierarchical-taxonomies-with-csv-importer/

I also saw this: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/import-content-csv-importer-plugin/

which say i need all sorts of fields. I don't have any of that. I just want one list of words to be categories in a custom taxonomy. Doesn't seem like it should be this obnoxious.

This seems like a wonderful feature the product could very easily have. Cut and paste a list of terms and push go. It would undoubtedly save users tons of time.. and me serious aggravation.

Thanks

Hi, Toolset doesn't import terms, nor does it import posts, but I can show you a simple workaround that requires no extra import software:

Now your terms have been imported. You can discard the draft post and continue using the terms in other posts.

Bonafide brilliant. I'm too angry at myself for not thinking of it. Thank you!
