[Resolved] Image Field – remote link

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to add Social Media share image links to img fields.

Solution:

Unfortunately no this is not possible as the share links are not able to be embedded in HTML.

What you will need to use is a single line field and convert the img share link into one that can be embedded in html.

That's nice, but unfortunately not really useful.

As I wrote before, there is no benefits (contrary) to work with Single Line, when you can on EXACTLY SAME converted link just to add > -no-tmp.jpg, and to be able to use 'normal' Image Field.

So, such converted long link

xxxxx

should be in Image Field

xxxxx-no-tmp.jpg

Goal is to avoid conversion (especially, as it is now done with Google Photos, but what about other services).

So, please for the purpose to conclude the ticket.

Is it some option to use shared links from external photo services directly or not?

P.S. If not, no problem, lets go to close ticket (as unsolved).

Hi Ljuba,

Well as we know you cannot use share links in img tags but Google offers this so this is something unique to google. The other services will need to do this in order for it to work.

This isn't something that we have a solution for since to display images in the img tag it needs to be a direct link to the image and not a share link.

Thanks,
Shane
