Good day:
I have a database we used to work with a custom CMS we made almost 20 years ago. Right now i want to migrate the page to wordpress in order to use everything wordpress offers for the new site.

Im following a tutorial right now (https://toolset.com/learn/how-to-import-a-database-into-wordpress/ ) but i see the tutorial creates a new content type to store the data. But what i need exactly is to be able to migrate all the data as posts, and being able to define the category and tags based on the term they had assigned on the old CMS, and being able to transfer all the photos (12gb of Photos approx as the database is almost 3gb)

Hope i can get support getting this done. Thank you.

Hello,

The document you mentioned above works for Migrate database data, it can setup posts, fields and taxonomies, but it won't be able to work for transferring photo files.

For category and tags, please check the below document:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/export-import/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/

All three recommended plugins support taxonomy "category and tags".

There's no way i can transfer the files then? there's no way i can, lets say, set them up in the post (by example, the post will have the photo a.jpg set as the main picture) so i can upload them by myself in the media area? Thank you.

Of course, you can upload photo files manually in WordPress media library.

And Toolset custom image fields stores value in URL format, so you don't need to transfer photo files to WordPress, you can try these:
1) Create a custom image field
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/custom-content/using-custom-fields/

2) In your CSV file, setup the photo file's URL for above image field,

3) Then you will be able to display the custom image field using Toolset image block

First of all, i must thank you for all this info, you have been very helpful to me and i really appreciate it. The issue here is that i do really need to get the picture as featured picture, as all the design on the website works with this field (we are using WPBakery builder to create the design).

there's no way to set the featured image field with toolset?... That would be my last question... Thank you...!

In the document I mentioned above:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/export-import/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/
There is a recommended CSV importer plugin "WordPress Ultimate CSV Importer Pro", see their document:

Inline & Feature image import from default WordPress media & external URL.

It seems they support import featured image from external URL, you can double check it with their support:

Please have a look at the download page:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

All Toolset plugins are there, and we don't have a plugin for export/import the csv files.

See the document you mentioned above:
https://toolset.com/learn/how-to-import-a-database-into-wordpress/#importing-the-csv-files-into-wordpress

section "Importing the CSV files into WordPress", it is referring to the document I mentioned above:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/export-import/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/

You will need to use third party plugin to import the CSV file.
