I want to show a list of categories with their respective category field names

<Field name>: <Field>
<Field name>: <Field>
<Field name>: <Field>

I've used the shortcode : [wpv-post-taxonomy type="category"] but it only displays a list of the fields. I can manually create a grid with the field names in one column and the list in the other column but that relies on each category only having one result and requires each column to be styled as out of the box they have different line height/ paddings etc.

Hello,

I have checked the URL you mentioned above, it seems you are using below setting:
Post "Calathea lutea", with category settings:
- Family-> Calathea
- Genus-> Marantaceae
...

All above terms are in same taxonomy "Category".

In my opinion, you can setup three custom taxonomy "Family", "Genus" and "Order", and register them to post type "plants".
See our document:
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/creating-a-custom-taxonomy/

So you will be able to display them easily in single "plants" post content.

Hi Luo,

Thanks for your response. I want each of the categories to have their own archive page. My understanding is that the only way to do this is to use WordPress categories. If this is correct is there a solution?

#1898309

No, the custom taxonomy can have their own archive pages too, see the document:

Taxonomies Have Archive Pages

Hey.

Ahhhh I didn't see that you could create custom categories at that level. Perfect thank you
