[Resolved] How to display content templates

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The customer created a content template and set up custom fields to display within this template. However, the content template is not being displayed on the front end as expected.

Solution:

The issue likely stems from the theme's compatibility. The customer's theme may be a block-based theme (such as Twenty Twenty-Four), which does not utilize PHP templates. As a result, Toolset content templates cannot override the theme's default display settings. It was suggested to switch to a traditional PHP-based theme to ensure that Toolset content templates are displayed correctly on the front end.

Hello, support team.
Thank you for your continued support.
I apologize for the basic question, but I am having trouble with the following problems, so please help me.

1. I designed a content template. ( Figure 1)
2. I set up a custom field to display in the template I designed. (Figure 1)
3. Content templates are not displayed on the front end ( Figure 2)

Regards,

Hello Yoshihiko

From your screenshot it looks like you didn't assign the template to be used for contractor posts (see my copy of your screenshot), which I would expect if you want this template to be used to display contractor posts.

But in your second screenshot I can see that it looks like you are previewing a post with this template, so it should be used.

If it is not then I would say the problem is likely that your theme is not compatible.

The introduction of block-based themes (like twentytwentyfour) don't use PHP templates any more, and Toolset templates cannot override what is displayed by the theme.

We intend to fix this, though it is not a small project, and I'm not sure when support for such themes will be added.

Until then, to use Toolset content templates it is necessary to use a traditional PHP-based theme.
